Wellbutrin Sr (Bupropion) is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with a certain type of depression called major depressive disorder. Doctors have also prescribed Wellbutrin off-label to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and in tandem with other medications - particularly SSRIs - to treat bipolar disorder. It works by affecting the balance of chemicals that occur naturally in the brain. This medication may be available under multiple brand names and/or in several different forms. Under the brand name Zyban, bupropion has also been prescribed to help people quit smoking.

While depressed mood and lack of interest in activities may need up to 4-6 weeks to improve, disturbances in sleep, energy, or appetite may show some improvement within the first 1-2 weeks. Improvement in these physical symptoms can be an important early signal that the medication is working.
The usual recommended dose is 100 mg to 150 mg once daily. In some cases, doses of up to 300 mg per day may be used. Daily doses over 150 mg are divided into two doses. Do not exceed the maximum dose of 300 mg per day, and do not take a single dose greater than 150 mg. Multiple daily doses should be taken at least 8 hours apart. It is very important that Wellbutrin Sr pills be swallowed whole and not chewed, broken, or crushed.
Trazodone (Desyrel) is an antidepressant of the serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor class. It is a phenylpiperazine compound. Trazodone also has anti-anxiety and sleep-inducing effects. Its side-effect profile and potential toxicity are considerably different from those of the original antidepressants (i.e., the monoamine oxidase inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants). It is available in multiple generic and brand versions. Generic trazodone is covered by most Medicare and insurance plans, but some pharmacy coupons or cash prices may be lower.

Those with depression may begin to notice improvement in symptoms in 1-2 weeks, but in may take 4-6 weeks before the maximum benefit is reached. Some symptoms may improve before others do, and you may have good days and bad days for a few weeks - this is normal progress when recovering from depression.
Therapy is usually started at a total of 150 mg per day divided into two or three doses. This dose is increased by 50 mg every three or four days until the desired effects are seen. Daily doses may be increased to a maximum of 400 mg per day in outpatients and up to 600 mg per day in hospitalized patients. In cases of extreme depression, daily doses of up to 800 mg have been used in hospitalized patients.
I just wanted to say that I had a lot of these negative symptoms when I was in the generic "Buproprion" (headaches, vivid nightmares) but after switching to the "name brand only" I no longer had those horrible side effects.. It's hard to tell in these reviews which people are taking the generic version ( which was horrific) and who is reviewing the actual Wellbutin SR. The name brand worked so much better!!!
The first 3 days were like how other describe as a mild acid trip. There was no sleeping. After that things normalized quickly until i did not even noticed i was on any meds except i was less depressed. The anxiety took a few years to get under control. I also get 30x0.5mg xanax a month to stop any panic attacks when they start. I have never needed to increase my benzo because i refuse to use them in a way that builds tolerance. I may go a few days without taking one then i will have an attack and may need 3 over the course of the day. I didnt think much about drinking on Wellbutrin because i didnt notice a difference. Then i have read horror stories about combining drinking and Wellbutrin. I do not have those or any other ill effects but i dont recommend it for others due to what i read
27 year old male with a history of anxiety and depression. I can honestly say this is the best antidepressant I have taken. I have tried many with terrible side effects that did not work but Wellbutrin 300 close worked wonders. It has given me energy and hope that I didn't think was possible after being extremely suicidal and lethargic. Constipation and very vivid dreams are the only side effect I can report which are not deal breakers for me. Glad I tried it. Been on it for over a month and still feeling hopeful.
I was prescribed trazadone to help me sleep which it does but it has also helped me tremendously with my depression. This has been good for me. I am having a problem with interaction with Zoloft effecting my eyes. I am going to talk to my doctor about changing my antidepressant.
Trazodone works great for me. I actually only take 50 mg. And get a good 7-8 hours sleep. I'm a diagnosed insomniac. But Trazodone does the job.
I was taking regular Trazodone on and off for a couple of years, it stopped working so my doctor switched me to Desyrel. It's a good pill for the fact that it does make you tired, but I'd make sure you're gonna get 8 or more hours of sleep before you take it. I was prescribed 100mg pills, and I only took half of a pill whenever I took it, and I had the hardest time waking up the next day. Also, with the reg Trazodone and with Desyrel, it took a long time for it to kick in for me (2 hours), but that might be because I have a high tolerance to pills. If you're new to this medicine, take it on the weekend, or whenever you can sleep in, so you can see how it works.
