While depressed mood and lack of interest in activities may need up to 4-6 weeks to improve, disturbances in sleep, energy, or appetite may show some improvement within the first 1-2 weeks. Improvement in these physical symptoms can be an important early signal that the medication is working.

I just wanted to say that I had a lot of these negative symptoms when I was in the generic "Buproprion" (headaches, vivid nightmares) but after switching to the "name brand only" I no longer had those horrible side effects.. It's hard to tell in these reviews which people are taking the generic version ( which was horrific) and who is reviewing the actual Wellbutin SR. The name brand worked so much better!!!

The first 3 days were like how other describe as a mild acid trip. There was no sleeping. After that things normalized quickly until i did not even noticed i was on any meds except i was less depressed. The anxiety took a few years to get under control. I also get 30x0.5mg xanax a month to stop any panic attacks when they start. I have never needed to increase my benzo because i refuse to use them in a way that builds tolerance. I may go a few days without taking one then i will have an attack and may need 3 over the course of the day. I didnt think much about drinking on Wellbutrin because i didnt notice a difference. Then i have read horror stories about combining drinking and Wellbutrin. I do not have those or any other ill effects but i dont recommend it for others due to what i read

27 year old male with a history of anxiety and depression. I can honestly say this is the best antidepressant I have taken. I have tried many with terrible side effects that did not work but Wellbutrin 300 close worked wonders. It has given me energy and hope that I didn't think was possible after being extremely suicidal and lethargic. Constipation and very vivid dreams are the only side effect I can report which are not deal breakers for me. Glad I tried it. Been on it for over a month and still feeling hopeful.

Nortriptyline has helped with my constant headache and has also helped me cope with my stress/anxiety. I'm on a low dose (20mg/day) and take at night. The first week I was out cold within minutes of taking the medication. That affect has worn off, but I continue to sleep well and wake up refreshed.

This med is amazing. I've had peripheral Neuropathy for a few years in my feet. I've tried Gabapentin, it didn't work. I tried Nortriptyline, I've been on it for 3-4 weeks...it's amazing... NO pins/needles feeling, no burning sensation! I still have some pressure in my feet, but things are so different now! I'm going to give it more time, but I think I found my holy grail! I understand it may not work for everyone, but so far it's working for me. If you are looking for something, ask your doctor and try it, it might work for you. Good luck to all of you!
