  • How to take cipro (dosage)

Take cipro exactly as your doctor tells you to. It is usually taken twice daily for a week or so, although some infections can be treated with a single tablet.

Before you start taking cipro, read the manufacturer's printed information leaflet from inside the pack. It will give you more information about the medicine and a full list of the side-effects which you may experience from taking it.

You should swallow the tablets whole - do not crush or chew them as they have an unpleasant taste. You can take ciprofloxacin before or after meals. You should not take cipro with milk or fortified orange juice as these drinks can interfere with the way it works. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember.

Do not drink milk or take indigestion remedies or medicines containing iron or zinc, during the two hours before you take cipro, or during the two hours after you have taken a dose. This is because these things interfere with the way cipro is absorbed by your body, and stop it from working fully.

Even if you feel your infection has cleared up, keep taking the antibiotic until the course is finished. This is to prevent the infection from coming back. A course of treatment usually lasts for about a week or so, although it can range from 3-28 days. If you still feel unwell after finishing the course of treatment, go back to see your doctor.

I've taken Levaquin a number of times over the year, always for ear infections that would not go away. Usually, I was prescribed some weaker antibiotic first. I eventually had sinus/septum surgery and haven't had an ear infection since, so not more reason to use Levaquin. This drug fixed my problem many times and I do not remember every having any significant side effects.

Do not take Levaquin! It will mess up your joints/tendons and cause multiple other problems. There are several FB groups with 1000's of victims from being "Floxed". Cipro causes same damage also! Do your Research before taking!!!

Levaquin worked great for my pneumonia but it caused my heart rate to go up, chest pain and anxiety. I would ask for a different one if you have heart issues or tachycardia.

I was able do my work without hassles and I'm free from pain right now. There's no need for me to cry anymore whenever I urinate. The only side effect for me is just a muscle pain for just only 3 days. This illness always occur when I use a tissue paper whenever I urinate. Until I discover Cipro, I finally ended up my pains as I took this medicine. It really works for me.
