  • How to take amoxil (dosage)

Your dose of amoxicillin will depend on how severe your infection is and what type of infection you have.

Doctors determine children's doses based on the type of infection and the child's weight. Children's amoxicillin comes in chewable tablets and liquid form.

Amoxicillin comes in both capsules and tablets. Adults should take tablets or capsules whole with a glass of water. You can take amoxicillin with or without food.

A common dose of amoxicillin for an adult with a mild to moderate ear, nose, or throat infection is 500 mg every 12 hours or 250 mg every 8 hours until the prescription is finished.

For a more severe infection, a common dose of amoxicillin is 875 mg every 12 hours or 500 mg every 8 hours.

A common dose of amoxicillin for a child (older than 3 months) with a lower respiratory tract infection is 40 mg per kilogram (kg) of weight per day in divided doses every 8 hours.

Or, doctors sometimes want the child to take 45 mg per kg per day in divided doses every 12 hours.

  • How to take cipro (dosage)

Take cipro exactly as your doctor tells you to. It is usually taken twice daily for a week or so, although some infections can be treated with a single tablet.

Before you start taking cipro, read the manufacturer's printed information leaflet from inside the pack. It will give you more information about the medicine and a full list of the side-effects which you may experience from taking it.

You should swallow the tablets whole - do not crush or chew them as they have an unpleasant taste. You can take ciprofloxacin before or after meals. You should not take cipro with milk or fortified orange juice as these drinks can interfere with the way it works. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember.

Do not drink milk or take indigestion remedies or medicines containing iron or zinc, during the two hours before you take cipro, or during the two hours after you have taken a dose. This is because these things interfere with the way cipro is absorbed by your body, and stop it from working fully.

Even if you feel your infection has cleared up, keep taking the antibiotic until the course is finished. This is to prevent the infection from coming back. A course of treatment usually lasts for about a week or so, although it can range from 3-28 days. If you still feel unwell after finishing the course of treatment, go back to see your doctor.

I haven't been put on Amoxicillin for acne but within 3 days of taking the antibiotic my skin has started to clear up massively, on my face my back & chest with no new spots breaking out and the old ones are fading and having time to heal without still being infected. Can't believe it has worked so fast! I've been on amoxicillin in the past for tooth infections and also saw beneficial effects on my acne. It really works for acne but I'm not sure if a Dr or derm will prescribe this antibiotic for long term use for acne even though it really does work. The only side effect I've seen has been an upset stomach so I've started taking a probiotic supplement.

I've used this drug for my ear infection, with which i've been struggling as far as i can remember by self. Amoxicillin worked great in treating my infected ear caused by rupture ear drums and tubes. This medication relieves pain in max 48 hours, but it does it job, and it will be effective for the entire treatment. I normally take ibuprofen as well to make it faster as it is an anti-inflammatory and helps for the healing process. The bad part of it is that it causes east infection, you need to ask your doctor for help. Also, if i don't eat or very tired, i get nausea after taking amoxil.

I was able do my work without hassles and I'm free from pain right now. There's no need for me to cry anymore whenever I urinate. The only side effect for me is just a muscle pain for just only 3 days. This illness always occur when I use a tissue paper whenever I urinate. Until I discover Cipro, I finally ended up my pains as I took this medicine. It really works for me.
